Jewelry Appraisal Services

Understanding Value. Making Informed Decisions.

Whether you’re protecting a treasured piece, managing an estate, or preparing to liquidate jewelry, a professional appraisal provides a documented opinion of value for a specific purpose.

But not all appraisals are the same. The value for insurance may be very different from the value needed for an estate or liquidation.

At Enduring Elements Jewelry Appraisals, I provide independent, personalized appraisal services to help you understand your jewelry’s value in the context that matters to you.

Insurance Replacement Value Appraisals

Starting at $150 per item

Special pricing available for multiple items

When you want to protect your jewelry.

An Insurance Replacement Value Appraisal estimates the cost of replacing your jewelry with a comparable item in the appropriate retail market.

When might you need one?

  • You’ve purchased or inherited jewelry you’d like to insure.

  • Your insurance company requests an appraisal or updated documentation

  • You want to review the replacement value of jewelry you already have insured.

An insurance appraisal provides detailed documentation and an opinion of replacement value to assist with insurance coverage decisions.

Updated Insurance Replacement Value Appraisals

$75 per qualifying item

When you have a previous appraisal that needs updating.

If your jewelry has been previously appraised, an updated Insurance Replacement Value Appraisals may be available at a reduced fee.

Existing appraisal documentation will be reviewed to determine whether an update is appropriate. Jewelry requiring significant additional examination, research, or documentation may require a new appraisal at the standard rate.

Eligibility and fees will be confirmed before proceeding.

Fair Market Value (FMV) Appraisals

Starting at $175 per item

Special pricing available for multiple items

When you need to establish value for an estate, trust, or other specific purpose.

Fair Market Value generally represents the price at which property would change hands between a willing buyer and seller, neither under pressure to act and both reasonably informed.

Unlike insurance replacement, FMV reflects the relevant market for the jewelry under the circumstances of the assignment.

When might you need one?

  • You’re settling an estate or administering a trust.

  • Jewelry needs to be valued for inheritance or family distribution.

  • You’re dividing jewelry as part of a property settlement.

  • You need a documented opinion of value for another applicable purpose.

We’ll discuss how the appraisal will be used to determine the appropriate type and definition of value.

Marketable Cash Value (MCV)Appraisals

Fees quoted by assignment

When you’re planning to sell jewelry and want to understand its potential cash value.

A Marketable Cash Value Appraisal provides a professionally researched opinion of the cash value your jewelry may realize in the secondary market under defined selling conditions and within an established timeframe.

Unlike insurance replacement or Fair Market Value, appraisals, MCV focuses on the market for converting jewelry into cash, considering the appropriate buyers, selling circumstances, and time available for liquidation.

When might you need one?

  • You’ve inherited jewelry and are considering selling some or all of it.

  • You’re downsizing or simplifying your jewelry collection.

  • You want to sell selected pieces within a planned timeframe.

  • You’d like a realistic, documented opinion of cash value to help guide your selling decisions.

A Marketable Cash Value Appraisal helps you make informed decisions about selling your jewelry without the pressure of selling it immediately.

Appraised values are professional opinions, not guaranteed purchase offers. Enduring Elements does not purchase appraised jewelry or sell jewelry on behalf of clients.

What Can You Expect From An Appraisal?

Every appraisal begins with a conversation about your jewelry and why you need a valuation. Understanding the intended purpose helps determine the appropriate type of appraisal.

Depending on the assignment, the appraisal process includes a professional examination of your jewelry, gemstone and metal identification, detailed descriptions and photographs, and relevant market research.

You’ll receive a written appraisal report documenting your jewelry, explaining the type of value developed, and presenting the appraiser’s opinion of value.

If a piece requires additional testing, specialized research, or examination by another professional, we’ll discuss those recommendations before proceeding.

My goal is to make the appraisal process comfortable, informative, and transparent—so you understand not only your jewelry’s value, but also how that value relates to your particular needs.
