How I Can Help

Understanding your jewelry collection is often the first step towards making informed decisions about insurance, repair, resale, estate planning, or family distribution.

A Jewelry Collection Consultation provides a professional review of inherited, estate, and personal jewelry collections, helping you identify what you own and determine which pieces may warrant further attention.

Your Consultation May Include:

  • Metal and gemstone identification

  • General condition observations

  • Collection organization and prioritization

  • Estimated secondary-market resale ranges

  • Repair and maintenance recommendations

  • Photo documentation

  • Review of available supporting documentation, including prior appraisals, receipts, certificates, or insurance records

  • Documentation of known provenance, family history, and personal stories associated with significant pieces

  • Written consultation report

For many families, the story behind a piece of jewelry can be just as meaningful as its market value. When available, consultation reports may incorporate family history, provenance, prior documentation, and personal stories associated with significant pieces, helping preserve both the physical item and its history for future generations.

Whether you have a single heirloom or an entire jewelry box filled with family treasures, the goal is to provide clear, practical guidance tailored to your needs.

What Happens During Your Consultation

Initial Conversation

We’ll discuss your goals, whether you’re reviewing inherited jewelry, downsizing a collection, planning for future family distribution, or simply seeking a better understanding of what you own.

Collection Review

Each item is examined using professional gemological equipment to identify metals, gemstones, and notable characteristics. Any available documentation, such as receipts, prior appraisals, certificates, or family history, may also be reviewed.

Organization & Guidance

Items are organized according to their characteristics, condition, market significance, and potential next steps. Recommendations may include repair, insurance consideration, resale guidance, preservation, or formal appraisal when appropriate.

Written Report

Following the consultation, you’ll receive a comprehensive report summarizing the findings, including identification information, condition observations, estimated market range (if desired), photo documentation, documentation of provenance/family history, and recommendations tailored to your collection.
